Life is a papercut

I am an m-dash bridging time and space pledging an old society– the Mother race. No text can express first moments held dear– clasped fingers, sleepless nights, heart-wrenching tears. I charge forward pausing briefly to punctuate days past recording coos of an angel growing painfully fast. To predict is impossible yet we attempt in our dreams skipping over present-tense like foot stones in a stream. Each moment, a paragraph, each day, another chapter– Why are endings, so permanent, always saught after? Life is a papercut, a barely-there thing. Suck the blood out– read slowly– Cherish the sting.

Additional Notes:
Any suggestions for describing the society of motherhood are welcomed. I think I'm stuck. (If it's okay as is, by all means, tell me that too, please!)
