EXCESS BAGGAGE

Throw away the keys to all your yesterdays,              they've flowed into the river of nevermore.                 Not one of them can ever be retrived,                     except in the recesses of your mind.          Yesterday's hurts, negative memories, and raging anger                       is just excess baggage.                Far too great a burden to carry each day.                    Why the struggle, to what avail?               Dragging this baggage around for a lifetime            changes nothing; other than intensify the anger,             grow the hurt, and ripen the negative memories.                 Each robbing you of life, love, and living,                       stealing your power to forgive.                       From any yesterday, choose only                       the memories of the good you did                            the lives you touched,                       and the august lessons learned.                      Remember, with each midnight hour                       unlimited possibilities arrive,                        with the dawning of a new day.                       Leave behing all excess baggage.
