No More Snow, No More Ice

It’s still cool outside, not quite Spring On with the sweat shirt, the gloves I will not bring I start off walking so very slow Down the macadam path to where the winds will not blow Ah sweet air I inhale deeply Across the footbridge I walk briskly I ramble down the deadened hill I stop and listen to a blackbird’s trill The narrow creek and water it holds Is swollen with ice, a gull lands oh he’s so bold Water jams its way downstream like a voracious turbo The swift water to Hudson’s Bay it will flow Breathing harder now uphill I go The sound of the water as it ebbs and flows Draws me in closer to the base of the weir I raise my camera to catch a fawn that is near It’s 30 minutes now, I’m certainly not bored I look forward to the end and to my reward I’m out in the open, back in my hood The Dew Drop’s sign blinks, “Good coffee, good food” Ah good coffee, what more could I ask And in my reverie I will bask I’ll go back home feeling quite elated Feeling full, feeling joy, I am totally satiated
