Unfinished

On a worn path I was winding In a dark labyrinth I was biding Where darkness clings and madness reigns One seeker in the stillest night And haunted by an ancient pain Crouched and quiet by terror stalked I howled at loss and looked at Death Mesmerized by His crooked finger   Closed my eyes and took a breath-- Then speaks a voice in celtic whispers A knight of nights the daemon slays My heart stops soft-- soak in the sound Tender strains and beloved names Echo in the peace now found Love sings silent, her tune unmasked Bright brilliant in the heart, unseen She fights and dies—-her noble round And in Gabriel’s gaze is given wings Someday I come, now’s not the hour I still fight the tired battle But when I do, this path unwinding My soul will lift—-with magick kissed One true victory in the finding.
