A Haiku Garden

A HAIKU GARDEN DNA prevails Little seeds hear their own call Be all you can be Lonely in the ground Darkness all around, as though It was all a hoax Ah, but suddenly Whispers of sunlight appear It’s a light they see The light of all life Coming to retrieve its own To force it to grow Sprouts above the earth Uncertain in their new life But the sun feels good And when moonbeams shine The new little seeds relax And take a moon bath Soon they have grown tall They even now know their names Carrots, beets, and dill         Tomatoes and chives         Peas form in spite of themselves         Beans dance along vines Robins spread the news Angle worms dig deeper still They could be breakfast Oh, here comes our Mom Yes, she has fertilizer And some bone meal too Ah, life is so good Here in the summer garden Don’t you just feel it? Radishes spring forth Mesculin reaches for sun Cilantro is up Roll call, everyone You can hear the voices rise Yes, we’re here, we’re here!

Additional Notes:
Following Brenda's lead, I am trying a series of Haiku (at least I hope...)
