Ice Storm

A puff of wind,an icy gust, And clouds of snow like diamond dust Come drifting down through clicking twigs, To lightly touch on crystal crust. Iced limbs hang down like chandeliers 'Neath treetops thrusting fragile spears Up to a sky the shade of slate, Now threat'ning to shed frosty tears. The beauty of one wintery night, Suspended then in pale moonlight, I carry now within my mind, A peaceful haven wrapped in white.
