Semi-great Expectations

Today like every other day i close my meditations with high expectations and lofty promises. i will love truly. i will care for my body. i will use my time prudently. i will be happy. And by the end of the day i will have both succeeded and failed many times. Thus it is appropriate now as i close at daybreak to hear both the rats scurrying up in the attic and the birds singing outside in the big mesquite tree. They tell me to quit fighting life, start living it and know that i will need my meditations tomorrow to promise and hope....all over again.
