Single Mother's Love

A young mother sits at the window and stares, Awaiting the sunrise in the chilly air. Thinking about the night that just passed, She hugs the pillow that once rested her love. Now, sleeping alone in that bed made for two. Awaiting Prince Charming, who's willing to share! The dawn has broken, and the quiet is shattered, By a dashing young man, who runs down the stairs. With eyes opened wide and a smile that is gleaming, He dashes and leaps right on to her lap. "I love you, Momma!" He has rushed to say. "It's a beautiful sunrise, again today! "Ok Momma, it's time to play!" The tools for the day the young mother packs, A lunch box full of his favorite snacks, A shovel and pail, for a day at the beach. With sand castles built, and sand angels made, A swim in the ocean, where the dolphins do play. A run with the kites that fly high all day. Exhausted and weary, from their full day of play, It's time to snuggle and watch the sun set. Now, the dashing young man who had run down the steps, Is carried to bed for a good night's rest. The young mother tucks in, this handsome young lad,  With a kiss on the forehead, he's ushered to sleep. With her heart full of joy with the day they have spent, She grabs her pillow and clutches her chest, Stares out the window and wonders aloud... "Is there a Prince Charming out there who's willing to share?"
