Of Faith and the Dead

Don't give your love in gentle favor give your love in kind remorse I know God, I know the Savior I know I must follow the Course The sleep of the dead envelops my head I have nowhere to go but inside where their dreams still live they have something to give to me who still dreams on the outside Take your soul in gentle hands don't take it in kind remittance from the One who understands freedom in repentance The sleep of the dead echoes in my head I have nowhere to go but inside where their voices still sound so close, all around to me who still hears on the outside Don't give your life in gentle thoughts give your life in kind replacement to the King you always sought to keep it in safe embracement The sleep of the dead plays in my head I have nowhere to go but inside where their memories exist they no longer resist the temptations I fight on the outside Take your faith from gentle grace don't take it from kind forgiveness God gave salvation in the face of Jesus who is our deliverance The sleep of the dead rests in my head I have nowhere to go but inside where their moments pass into eternity they last while mine are stopped on the outside
