Cakes

Colossal, coconut concoction Heavily-layered, creamily iced, Decks stacked high, a titanic boat So temptingly tasty, waits to be sliced. Mound of chocolate fudge perfection Decadently decorated, deep dark delight; With sprinkles of variegated nuts that float Over a rich cocoa glaze, dusky as night. Blatantly buttery, yet sparingly spiced,  Pound cakes blended by old receipts kept. The secret ingredient is what really matters. For this one unknown, the angels have wept. Pungent and fruity tart-like dreams Sleepily lounging on crystal platters; Topped now with lemony, orangy creams, Were once just unbaked citrous batters. Delightfully dimpled, twin airy confections, Each, butterfly  light,  a helium balloon; Towering double marshmallow reflections Guaranteed not to last past mid-afternoon. A plethora of cakes rolled out for inspection Each day, an incredible array of flavors Served  a`la carte; freshly baked works of art For taste buds and eyes to hungrily savor.
