Desert Desire

A full moon mounts the vacuous sky Washed in blood red fire The desert night holds its breath Lost in suppressed desire You cross the desiccated sand Clothed in lupine skin Your finely chiseled face - reflects A knowing wolfish grin Mesmeric voice that captivates Whispered yearnings - calling me I am bound by your resolve Captured - by your untamed plea Candles leap to life around me Clothes vanish at your touch Shadows dance thru sienna eyes As you enslave me in your clutch Warm lips spawn an appetite Breasts - blossom for your fingers Moisture washes over thighs The scent of passion lingers You breathe the air - inhaling me And sip my honeyed hide Then stripped, on knees, you cover me The wolf won’t be denied The thirsty godforsaken land Trembles at our lust And I’m consumed by cacoethes With every savage thrust I wreath as you impale me Bay - at your conquering growl We die - and live again Echoing ecstasy’s howl Time shatters - as the waterless ground Greedily drinks love’s flow Till an oasis springs forth And flowers - start to grow

Additional Notes:
OK so maybe the title needs some work I posted this one somewhere (I thought it was allpoetry) for a challenge, but I can't find it now. I do remember that the winner received points that could be used to promote their poems or issue other challenges. There were 28 poems entered. Mine was picked (by the person who issued the challenge) as runner-up. I was pleased since I wrote it for the challenge, and didn’t have time to make any revisions before posting. As I recall: The challenge was to write a sensual poem about sex. It had to include nature and have an undertone of love. When I found this word I loved it. Cacoethes = Ravenous need, insatiable desire,
