The Other Side of Adieu

You might be in his arms open wide, but I am on the other side. You might know fidelity,  but I know the reality.  The reality that laughs in the looking glass. The reality that cries, the blink of tears from eyes. You might wear a wedding band, but I wear the other hand. You might know a spoken line, but I know the underlying mind. The mind that rhymes the write of wronging crimes. The mind that holds my image and secrets never to be told. You might live with him as a wife, but I live within his other life. You might know sweet amores', but I know the other stories. Stories told by self and soul not in parts, but full in whole. Stories of a sweetly spoken word,  sentiments you've never heard. You might look into hazel eyes, promising with pretty pies, but you never knew how much they lied nor did you see the tears he cried. He tried to leave, he tried to go, he even tried to tell you so. In despair, he once told me good bye, but again then he wondered why? Why deny his inner self and place it high upon a shelf? Nevertheless, in time it caught and down it brought or so you thought. So now he pays passion's due,  the drown of poetic rue, but on the other side of adieu,  I know he thinks of me even if he's with you.
