Transcendent Beauty The blackened sky of night fell around a dancing scene high above. Tendrils of light groped the stars and covered the rarefied expanse with colours not even a Surrealist could imagine to paint. The sky was awash with a palette of blazing hues pulsating blue to red to green, Flashing one moment then gone only to return the next minute with even more outrageous colours. It was a breath taking intermingling ballet holding hands with the heavens as if communing with their gods. I was eleven at the time laying on my back watching the show when I first realized there was more to me than just me. I had become, at that moment, that specific moment, and for one brief moment - one with the universe. |
Additional Notes:
Of course I'm referring to the Aurora Borealis.
