Coal Miners Daughter

Cherokee, a quarter part Only sings what’s in her heart Audience is world wide Lovely lady 'countrified' Mooney Lynn, as he was known, In his prime and all alone Noticed her young fresh-scrubbed face Ended up in love’s embrace Raised their children—times were tough Saw that there was love enough Debuted with a little band Aces fell into her hand Underneath the country song Grew a woman wise and strong Heaven smiled when she sang Tennessee beneath the twang Every love song born in tears Rocking babies fifty years
