A Poem Is A Meteor

A poet must wallow in the horde of words he's hoarded, must burrow into an air-pale dell of hallowed blooms to propel his furrowed brain to metaphoric spells. He should spend time with the subtle part of himself, the self who perceives and acts intuitively, and dances in the rain, gyrating Ginger-ly. His inner being encounters majesty in the common, hears a tune in an oyster, sees amber dust near the flick-bickering burn, and senses stigmata of the moon. Waves salivate upon arid dunes as the poet walks along the coulee, searching for words to unveil his vision to others. Penned by the poet to share and declare his view of the world and part of his heart: words pearled and hurled to oft- deafened ears. Then comes the joy when a few reel with feeling from his labored lines. To create emotion equates with sun glow and to be understood is a thunder of silvery mists. Treasures that will last at least as long as forever.
