My brother, my friend, where did you go Berlin was burning in a fire too refined To even allow your gentle light More than a brief moment to shine In the land of Luther Where papal worms Burrowed beneath the surface Only to arise As prostitutes of the rogue Came a beautiful child A delight to the Father Who challenged the agent More than the judgments Of morality uncensored More than the threat Upon the chosen More than the consequence Of the final solution More than the heresy Of apathetic complacency His gift was the truth Of the proffered word His sacrifice upmost For that of the Lamb His brevity enough To triumph the world His mission fulfilled To tender the Love The fire consumed the twisted cross Cleansing the demons of another martyrdom In blazes too searing for even the dark prince The Heavenly Host once more claimed His own
