The Little White Rabbit and the Little Brown Pup

The little white rabbit and the little brown pup Are helping me so I grow up. I'm still a little child, you see, Who fears the dark and the Jiggle-de-de. These two good friends are always there, When I go to bed up the stair. They lay by me all through the night, True companions through any plight. In the morning, when I awake, There they are, for goodness sake! They've been on watch all the time That I've been sleeping so sublime. I greet them each with happy glee, Because they're faithfully there for me. Sometimes, when Mom and Dad aren't there, It's ok to have them close, this pair. Such a comfort, in old age, helps banish And years of grief and loss just vanish. A childhood so bleak, austere, I now redo with hound and hare.
