Together

Motives outweigh actions most of the time except today when the sky turns intense orange red outside my office window. Why? has become a mantra too hot to encounter so I leap away from it between an inferno below and the sun up above, a blue, enticing encasing, entrapping sky in between. I see others like me: solo isolated sadly frantic in control of their own destinies. Except for two alongside me, they are together, hand in hand tumbling down. I enny them, they will expire together conjoined by fate, falling, gravity---- a choice we all want: to not be alone in that last dive into death. Urban legend, truth, does that matter? Their motive is more important that the truth the veracity of their momentous, lovely, their, action. I like it that way--- as sleep slams into me.
