The Light, Long Gone From a Distant Star

The light, long gone from a distant star, enters my eyes as I sit in the somewhat darkness, watching the shadows shade your face. In a previous life, we were unsaved souls; You, the queen of the mystery and I, a gravedigger; destined to meet at the end of a scepter and part at the beginning of a spade. It was then I dug the grave we found in the blue meadow, grown over now with roses but no less a grave, open, like a mouth in agony, waiting for the light, long gone from a distant star, to leave my eyes.
