Jubilee

Te Deum!            Hosanna!              Gloria!            The joyous             movement of spirit              forward,               upward,                witnessing renewal                 of personal credo.             Recalling that first          "Introibo ad altare Dei."             With you I rejoice,               In Him we celebrate,                 with fond memories,                   responding;          "Ad deum qui laetificat,            iuventutem meam."

Additional Notes:
In the Latin Mass, the priest begins "Introibo ad altare Dei." I go to the altar of God. The server responds, "Ad Deum qui laetificat, uven tutem meam." To God who gives joy to my youth. This was written for Fr. James Sayers on his 25th year as a dedicated minister to his people. This was written in remembrance of his first Mass, said after his ordination, and the many since. It seems the compassionate, caring ministers are not getting much ink these days. It seems the kind and compassionate ones aren't too news worthy. Equal time does not sell papers I guess. I was a server during his first assignment at Visitation Parish in Chicago in the 1950's.
