All Things Must Follow Nature

All things must follow nature And so it is this fall, Most things succumb to winter And won't be back at all. We say they are annual, But that implies a year; From April to October Is all they’re really here. It seems surviving winter Is measure of the thing, The season isn't over ‘Til you come back to Spring. Yet not all things can return, The earth can't hold them all. Most are not perennial Their season ends in fall. And I know just how they feel To play the shorter part; So much is left to nature That should be left to heart.
