World of Silence In his world there is only silence surrounded by the sounds of life, Never hearing his baby's heartbeat or her cries in the quiet of the night, He will only know how the lullabies he plays soothes her by the look he sees on her tiny face, The joy of hearing her first words spoken will never be heard in this earthly place, He will never hear her say I love you but he will know it just the same by the way that she will look at him as they sit and play a silly game, In signing he will teach her how to blend two different worlds as one, She will be as proud to call him Daddy as I am to call him Son. Additional Notes:
This was written for my son Joey who is deaf, and the coming of his first child, which I have decided is a girl...This is not perfect but it comes from my heart...
