By Grace Given Me A sunset over the water grows in my heart A sunrise over mountains warms my soul Fields of wheat softly waving in the breeze Make my knees weak, my eyes skyward As the bluegrass is turning brown Lying on a hillside looking at a star Oh, but the longing in my heart To be so close, yet so very far I searched the plains and parched desert Recognize me I implore You, please I gaze at a midnight sky Through the aspens and the pines For surely the time will come When fast through this life I must go Ascending, looking upward, inward Colors blue, green, sunshine and night In dreams I pursue, only per chance To catch a glimpse of morning dew My synapse connected, my tree By bridge of water under sky so blue Snow crystals remind me of You, each Blowing in the wind with a difference face I feel God’s grace. He, all these things Given me each day brings life anew As the bluegrass is turning brown |
