Peace2 I, at deaths doorway, lay, In this still black valley will I stay? What is this place that beckons me? I feel no pain, my soul set free. Now as I stand within this dream, A peace through me begins to stream. A peace that’s greater than any felt. No fear whatever may be dealt. A small soft voice within my head Says “all is well,” “eternity is just ahead.” If only I could paint a picture Of the Light that is my Saviour. Then content I would surely be To know that you could see It’s the light that beckons to me - “come.” And I would gladly cross that chasm For the peace from that light I see. Its beams of light emitting and I am free. My journey it won’t be long Until I sing a heavenly song. Somehow I knew this light was Jesus. For the brightness shown was glorious. Prayers and tears of sorrow and love Began to fill all heaven above. “How did you know?” someone might ask. It was the light beams which were cast, That revealed a divine truth to me. And God He heard their trusting plea, Then He began His miracles in me. And now I’m back, born-again twice. How can I explain this peace this life? Just remember that the light beams gleaming, Doesn’t mean you are always dreaming. |
