Poetry has been for years an outlet for feelings I could not express any other way. At the age of 15, I developed encephalitis, menangitis and shingles and 3 years later had a reoccurance of menangitis. It was at this time I began to write. 3 years after the last episode, I began to develop symptoms of what is now diagnosed as post-encephalitic parkinsons disease.
I am 42 years old, and have 3 daughters-25,23, and 15. I was a single mother for 15 years, bought my own home and 1978 Harley Davidson superglide. I am now married, have not been able to work for 8 years, but enjoy the peace and quiet of living on my acreage in the countryside of the Pacific Northwest.
