Hello there.
My name is Chris Travelstead, I'm 19 and live in Indiana. I have a pretty normal
life, exceptt for the fact I don't like it 'cause it's very boring. I've been
intrested in writing since 1st grade & I'm a classic book worm. I'd like to be a
poet, but I also wanna be rich; poetry and material wealth doesn't happen often.
So I'm into writing hip-hop as well. Rap is poetry, set to a beat. People
say it's too vulgar, and that's true, but when you think about it, it's as
vulgar as life. Wait a minute, there's that art imitating life thing again. I'll
leave that alone. ANYWAYS. To me, a poem is doorway to another world, another
idea. Poets are the keys. Those who call themselves poets should think about that.
I'd also like to leave a quote for ya, can't remember who said it, and many may not
understand, but it says that poets are . . . "the truest historians in the world..."
