My name is heather, but I prefer to publish under and sign hj elliot. You may address me as either as I answer to both. I graduated from the university of Idaho with a degree in creative writing--which is silly, if you think about it. So here I am, ignoring my proper schooling and writing whatever pleases me. My influences are many, but my favorites include Li-Young Lee, Sandra Cisneros, Joy Harjo, and Sharon Olds. Though lately, I've been going through a Plath phase. Still a bit of an idealist and plan someday to make a living from writing, all while living in Paris mind you. At the moment, I work at a library and love it and continue on with poetry, striving for a strong collection rather than a few hits. I'm excited this new opportunity has opened up and gives me a chance to hear some real reactions to what I write.
