Where to start? I'm a 40 year old single mother with 3 children (all boys). I've been writing off and on most of my life. Writing mostly poetry, but recently delving into prose. I have done a number of different things in my life, studied Chemical Engineering in college, later becoming more involved in computers (hardware) and more recently Computer Programming (just got my certificate in). I've also pursued a business making and selling jewelry (still do) and of course my full time job just being a mother. But writing has remained the one constant in my life. I only have a few poems listed here so far, but will have more soon. I've had a lot of influences in my writing...some of them have been reflected in the poems i've submitted so far. My biggest inspiration of all is my children. My biggest challenge in my life is dealing with my two younger children, both diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I feel very blessed to have all my children and equally blessed to have my oldest son who been a source of help and support with my other two...and a big source of pride for other reasons.
It was wonderful to discover this site. I have gotten some great critiques of my work thus far and it's been wonderful to share my work here.
