I am only beginning to seek publication for my poetry, and a friend -- for whom I have dedicated a poem entitled "Her Voice" has re-awakened my creativity. It seems it has been too long dormant, and I hope that the poets on this system enjoy my work.
I teach English at Duval High School in Lincoln County and I used to work as a journalist. I enjoy reading and movies. My favorite book is the Bible because it contains a bit of everything (poetry, love stories, adventure, and history), but I also enjoy reading poetry, with my favorite poets being Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Langston Hughes, Robert Frost and Frank Polite. I also enjoy reading literature, with I, Claudius being a favorite, and Lewis Grizzard's humorous prose is also favorable.
I graduated from Marshall University in 1994, with b.a. in English and social studies education, and I am currently seeking a master's degree. My senior thesis was based on finding evidence of English postmodernism in Lawrence Ferlinghetti's "I Am Waiting."
Currently, I am unmarried, and the quest for the perfect woman has opened up all kinds of poetic potential. One beautiful lady has already inspired one current work, and she encourages me to write even more.
I am one of the few poets who enjoys sports, and I am currently writing a piece for Muhammed Ali. Another poem, which I consider my magnum opus, is based on baseball and I will seek to publish it soon.
