Raven's Flightcheyenne smythI certainly appreciate what you are capable of doing with the flare of your pen and the words penned. The images created come to life in each line , you bring this Raven in full flight, the sounds he makes, the mission he is on...good form, word flow and you make this reader want more from your pen. God Bless, Claire2009-11-11 08:26:18
C East 1975Nancy Ann HemsworthNancy how very nice to see you posting today.....I was able to read this and associate with it since it takes place in a secured hospital (most likely State Hospital) and it is way back in the 1975 era. My first impression is WOW how horrible a situation for anyone to be in.....these children were often just left behind by their families for many reasons and that is very sad in itself. I know there were many good people out there trying to take care of these children, young and old alike....it also reads like a horror story (for most of these children and young adults it probably was) and the images you created bring much sadness to ones soul. How fortunate these children were to have you caring for them...not easy on you either....the last line is perfect for one can and does hear the soft sound of a lullaby...most likely sung by the best....my thoughts and feelings are it is one for the contest list for sure and I wish you well with it. God Bless, Claire 2009-11-11 08:22:25
If They Could Only See - EditedDeniMari Z.poet no need to score this just wanted to let you know it works very well.....life is full of colors and you represent each happening very well. The words flow for a smooth, easy read....enjoyed the original and I enjoyed this as well. God Bless, Claire 2009-11-11 08:14:01
If They Could Only SeeDeniMari Z.It is amazing how words can bring forth images as they do....and this one is no exception for the colors presented can be seen and felt.....often I wonder how one may sees aura's which surround one with color or perhaps just a shade of one color but I know they can for I have seen it myself.....the moods and circumstances of ones life seem to be shared in depth within ones self and the colors are there to represent such a time.....If they Could Only See is a good title for this piece and I am colors...presents a good opening line.....a good read from start to finish .....thank you for posting and being a part of the link. God Bless, Claire2009-11-09 08:50:41
New Zealandcheyenne smythThis is beautiful Cheyenne and your words bring forth a new image of this beautiful place......enjoyed the read from start to finish along with the beauty and spendor of the land.....indeed a place of magic and beauty in one. God Bless, Claire2009-11-08 08:22:58

My October VotesDeniMari Z.Thanks for posting your choices for this month's voting......indeed there are many worth the honors. God Bless, Claire2009-11-08 08:15:51
Grandma's Chaircheyenne smythpoet you left me wanting more of gramma and her old chair.....great read, words that flowed like a river of life and the images you created with the flare of your pen outstanding......we have an old rocking chair in our dining room that belonged to my husband's great great grandmother......it is so delicate I won't let anyone other then myself sit in it for fear it will break under their weight.....I can see you sitting on your grandma's lap listening to her stories and even after your feet touched the floor you were close to her heart....her blue eyes though sad at times must have sparkled like diamonds when her family was around.....wishing all children could have a grandma like you discribe for they are rare, their stories sacred and their love undying. Thank you for posting and for sharing this with us. Looking forward to more of your work. God Bless, Claire2009-11-07 22:07:02
Willing LimberJames C. HorakYou seem to have captured it well within the lines presented with the flare of your pen. When I was younger I so loved wearing my very high heels, nylons and a dress with a flare to it.....the walking and swaying was so much fun back then and I remember my hubby always saying something about my tight blue jeans too.....I do believe women learn this maneuver at a very young age as I watch my little two year old granddaughter walk as if she too sways to the beat of music only she can hear.....God Bless, Claire 2009-11-05 08:09:39
My HomeworkDeniMari Z.your pain and loss is well felt within the lines presented in this poem my friend. Glad to see you are into therapy for the emotional loss of your son and perhaps in time the pain will ease within your heart. The flow of your words bring forth the emotional tears you are feeling and I mean not only tears falling from ones eyes but tears of the heart felt as well. Be well, keep writing and sharing your pain. God Bless, Claire2009-11-05 08:03:21
Never BelieveDeniMari Z.Oh well that is easy, I saw the ghost of my father after my oldest daughter was born so that was 43 years ago....enjoyed the read, the easyflow of your words, the images you created with the flare of your pen, the fun of the season though this year brought more sorrow then happiness to some children out trick or treating....pehaps his family will see his ghost in the days to come. (a ten year old boy was killed when a tree fell on him while waiting for his friends to go trick or treating). Thanks for posting, God Bless, Claire2009-11-05 07:56:21
WhittlingDellena RovitoInteresting read my friend.....I often watched my grampa whittling away on a piece of wood and was amazed at the finished product...such talent I thought, wish I could do that too. Now, here you present to me 'life' in the form on a piece to be whittled on and how we individually create a piece of art, or not. each day does take form and perhaps very different from the one before but in reality we all are our own creation and the many faces we wear during this time of life depends on perhaps just where we are, who we are and what we are working on becoming. As you can tell I still rattle on and perhaps I make no sense to you but this is what I felt as I read and to me it is a really good, if not great presentation. Hope you are well.....I'm on meds for this flu bug that won't leave town....stay warm and well....God Bless, Claire2009-11-05 07:49:47
My Vote for SeptemberDellena RovitoA very good show for September and October appears to be off to a good start as well. Congratulations on your poem and as always I look forward to finding more of your work. Be well, stay safe and God Bless, Claire2009-10-08 01:17:07
Pain In The Beginning & EndDeniMari Z.Powerful emotions penned in this one my friend....words cannot honestly say how one feels when reading all of your pain.....no parent should have to feel that sharp knife slicing within its first home. I am sad for you, but I also rejoice with your choice of seeking help in grief counseling and I know in helping yourself 'heal from within' you are also helping others with your work. Shaun is watching over you as your love continues to grow. God Bless, Claire 2009-10-08 01:14:06
My September VoteJames C. HorakIt seems like the month is off to a good start with its new offerings......we are fortunate to have so many talented poets on this site.....God Bless, Claire 2009-10-08 01:03:37
Autumn TambourinesDeniMari Z.It is a beautiful offering for the Fall season.....old, new or in between it certainly present what this season is all about. Your words have brought forth the beautiful colors that also fill our country side and today the winds uprooted a few trees as it shook those leaves to the earth below. Thanks my friend for posting and being such an important part if the link. God Bless, Claire2009-10-08 00:57:22
September VotesDeniMari Z.Cetainly agree it was a great month for poetry and it looks like October is off to a great start as well. Looking forward to your work for it always touches my heart. God Bless, Claire2009-10-08 00:51:29
DestroyersDeniMari Z.to me this is a very powerful statement of what takes place daily in the lives of so many.....you are right in that tears won't change a thing or mean anything to those who enjoy judging others the way they do.... God's eyes certaily sees it all and your words hve given much to think of, images to not only see but to feel as well.....just the other day a child hit out at another with words concerning the size of his stomach....might be a small matter to some but the child was deeply touched by the hurting words.....God Bless, Claire will make my list of the months's poetry......2009-09-29 09:26:46

To Withstand the StormDellena RovitoFor so many there appears to be no soul living within and only the lost ends of oneself seem to appear. This is a very powerful piece......it tells me you know who you are, what you believe in, where you might have been and where you are going at this time in your life....we all have a soul and one can only hope and pray we listened and learnt well in our journey through life for HE who created each of us waits to see the final results of this journey......personally I believe it is okay to scream in protest of what is taking place around us as we write. Hope you are feeling well, the cooler weather is here and probably to stay. Been down with some flu bugs lately and they seem to want to stay. God Bless, be safe my friend. Claire 2009-09-21 07:44:08
The VacancyMark Andrew HislopLots of food for thought within the lines of this one.....I always enjoy the way you speak to us individually with your writings as your words flow like a river with no end in sight. Thanks for posting, God Bless, Claire 2009-09-13 12:54:39
Secret Love LetterDeniMari Z.I do believe this Secret Love Letter should be given or sent to the one it is meant for.....full of emotion, passion, desire and longing....yet surely not a hopeless situation I pray.....dreams are meant to be shared. Good Job....God Bless, Claire2009-09-13 12:50:09
Northumberland RoadMark Andrew HislopMark I love the sound of this poem as I read it to myself, the visuals are the best with the words that you have penned.....I remember taking tea at gram's but then it was my memere's......oh how I loved to curl her floor length hair and watch it flow in the morning breeze......you never stopped to catch your breath as the words just flowed and flowed and flowed. Again, it was a pleasure to find and read more then twice you know....God Bless, Claire2009-09-13 12:44:24
StepsRegis L ChapmanInteresting to know and yet to understand it is those steps we take in the road of life that brings us to where we are today. In a relationship where problems existed...even for a short span of time....are enough to bring us to a complete hault and our mind might wander to where we once were and who we are today.....I am sorry to read about the misunderstanding in your relationship and though being a friend to all may seem well and good I do hope you know you have to be true to yourself first of all otherwise no plan of action will ever work and be completed......Enjoyed the steps you took to work this out my friend.....looking forward to more of your work ..listening for your footsteps....God Bless, Claire good word flow, lots of food for thought along with images created by the flare of your pen.2009-09-08 06:40:59

breaks my heartChristina MorrowVery powerful stand you have taken and rightly so....you have captured my attention with the opening line and the way your words carry it through brings so many images along with the fact you have stopped listening and rightly so.....I am sorry someone you loved and trusted took your heart and broke it ....what amazes me is the fact he wants it back to most likely hurt once more...Put that pretty smile of yours on that pretty face and let them wonder....looking forward to more of your work. God Bless, Claire2009-09-07 19:59:10
The tall shipsMark Andrew HislopEnjoyed the longing in this one.....many years ago I was fortunate to watch the Tall Ships come into harbor here in New England with the escort of the US Coast Guard. At the time my husband was stationed on the USS CastleRock which was one of the ships bringing them in. Your pen has painted quite a picture and your heart seems to have stirred up an old love....along with the beauty of the sea and those who long to ride its waves. God Bless, Claire2009-09-07 19:50:34
Love StandsKenneth R. Pattonand with that my friend you have said it all..........hope you and yours are well .....love holds no strings that you do not care to be attached to....and I can see from so many of your postings that you are in love. God Bless, Claire2009-09-07 19:45:40

See Yourself FoundDeniMari Z.Interesting piece of art you have here my friend and it reminds me of something I wrote some time ago. I do believe it was entitled.......Life is a Journey........I do agree it is a journey we begin at birth and end at death and all that is between is of our own choosing.......good word flow, images, thoughts and indeed much to think about. Hope you are well and winter was not too rough on you. God Bless, Claire 2009-04-24 09:18:24
Tale of the Bouncing BunnyMonica ONeillI hope your Easter was a happy one too Monica. So nice to find your work once more and I do hope you will be sharing more in the days to come. A lovely tale of this bunny in great detail, allowing the reader to enjoy the journey and the justice of it all. As always well written, wonderful images created by the flow of your pen and I might add it would make a good little story for children to enjoy. Take good care, God Bless, Claire2009-04-23 23:30:21

IrreconcilableKenneth R. PattonLove it Ken and was not expecting the mouse tunnels in the snow........My grade teachers told my mom I would be lost most of the time....day dreamer that I was....by the way where did these tunnels take you Nice word flow, lots of images of you sitting in that small office (bet it is a super sized one at that) the packing a machine worth all that cash.........take a break my friend.....Hope you and yours are well, take good care now, God Bless, Claire2009-03-29 23:39:37

Feb. VoteDellena RovitoThanks again for being such an active part of this link. God Bless, Claire 2009-03-29 23:33:16
Spring SpiritedDellena RovitoSo beautifully penned and so deserving of the months list of favorites. The warmth generated from your words along with the colors presented from your pen bring forth all that our heart desires at this time of the year...a time of new beginning, the world returning to life, babies being welcomed into families, the aroma that indeed fills the air that surrounds us......so love the sound of the morning birds as thy sing such a sweet melody in the early light to God above......the memories that fill your vases, that warm your sun filled days and bring hope for a brighter tomorrow. Indeed a very special presentation....thank you and God Bless, Claire the flu turned into pneumonia and I am still in bed......love yah girl....2009-03-29 23:31:39
BugabooDellena RovitoAnd it would work so very well for me too my friend....loved this read from start to finish.....got my attention with the spiders of course....they are so big here in Tully I think they do nothing more then move in for the winter and eat all that gets in their way.......You certainly had me chuckling. We heat with wood and I did forget to tell my oldest daughter to be careful when they bring in wood with too many holes for the critters are close at hand......I usually put that piece right into the flame but it seems her boyfriend placed it on the top of the pile, near the wood stove and the heat called all 200 ants out to dance.....what a mess.......Hope you are well, take good care, God Bless, Claire 2009-03-28 03:22:14
What Do They KnowNancy Ann HemsworthNancy it seems to me you have said it all...........wonderfully penned.......brings back mom's passing which is five years now.......how the family and friends gathered over her and those beautiful clouded blue eyes looking back from wherever she was in that moment and I honestly believe she was in God's waiting room......Indeed this is 'true poetry' and it sits so well in its rawness. Hope you are well.....of course I let the flu bug in, nasty character that does not want to leave home. God Bless, Claire.2009-03-28 03:13:19
Fields of dreamsMichael BirdThe title alone stands out and grabs you by the hand.....the words penned allow for feelings to take shape, images to be created and dreams created. Actually I think it would do fine placed to music for the world to share your God given talent. God Bless, Claire2009-03-28 03:05:39
Duane's, "Sleep"James C. HorakI just finished reading and posting for Duane's poem...Sleep......indeed it is well worth the read and the praise ....will be on my list for this month for certain. Hope you are well James. Been down with the flu bug and its got a hold on me.....God Bless, Sprintime is here when all the snow leaves our yard....Claire2009-03-28 03:01:54
Another SpringKenneth R. PattonAnd here I sat in Tully feeling the same warmth from the sun above......nice picture you created with the flow of your words....I do so look forward to the spring flowers pushing through yet we still have snow remaining in Tully.....actually the aroma of your coffee was pretty nice too as you basked in that sunshine. Hope you are well, this flu had got me down.....I do need spring and warmer weather. God Bless, Claire2009-03-28 02:41:45
Sleet and Freezing RainKenneth R. PattonIndeed it has been bleak, cold, dreary here in New England for too many days extending into weeks now. You have penned exactly the sight one would see should they venture into New England at this time of the year....Though I might have dreamed it I did hear Spring is right around the corner ad don't beiee a thing the ground hog might add........stay well, stay warm, nice finding you on my list this morning. God Bless, Claire2009-02-06 09:10:07
The TinctureDellena RovitoBeautifully penned my friend.......your words bring forth to this reader at least the joys of love within our lives, whether it be from a parent, child, lover, spouse, friend or in this case from God who loves us all............. I am particulary touched by the third stanza......one that I can see, feel, hear, touch, and yes, revealing to all, what is of genuine importance. It is on my list for the month for sure.......God Bless, Claire2009-02-06 09:06:06
