Warmth Looking out a window facing North I know the look of winters approach. I have heard these silences before. Feeling warmth and cold fight back and forth As battalions of ice encroach And seal the front of my southern door. Hoping I have taken every care, Knowing I have forgotten a few, I check the firewood and food once more. There are things for which I can't prepare So what I have done will have to do. Warmth is all that I am striving for. |
