Crucified

I saw upon a mighty cross A man in agony, My burdens laid upon his brow, Yet I nailed him to this tree. He was known as Jesus The father of all men, The one who was to lead us, From Satan and all sin. While the soldiers lead him down the road And through the city square, He was preaching to all men, That all would soon be free of sin. He walked a road walked many times before By thieves, murderers, adulterers, and more, He walked a road not fit for man, He walked a road not fit for him. This road led up a mountain To a place called calvary, Where soon he would be nailed, Upon that mighty tree. As the soldiers drove the nails into his hands I heard him scream in pain, and when the nails had pierced his feet, He cried all soon would be complete. AS the cross was rose with Jesus on it The people screamed in hate, And spit upon the ground, where his precious blood still laid. There I stood and watched, not knowing what to do Until I turned and looked, And saw the crowd, A few of them in tears. For this is what the Bible says And what I saw within my life, About the Lord who once had died, To come and save me from my strife.
