Acquainted With The Night

I share the same birthday as Phillip Larkin: I hearken to the fillip of rain and dark'ning. In hypnopompic state, I rouse and taste the dark. Trickles of rain tease my window, slow dribble from eaves with no hint of eastern light. Endless thresholds before dawn...hours for ease in dream scapes. Rain and dark, enchanting as poems pulsing like planetary orbs, as lush as a thrush's bright song in muted light. Darkness means mystery and possibilities to absorb while rain pours antediluvian lore. I confess I obsess. I never hesitate to meditate, eternity ever in mind, longing to know more of what bade the humongous bang and the fate that awaits. Another soul, also searching, quietly glides into my dream scape and we try to apprehend and ken the beyond. We know the power of dreams for an access to spiritual recesses. We progress through blessing beams where our dreams lead: souls afire with racing desires to touch the face of the Supreme.
