Beauty

Beauty rejects my submissions Summarily dismissed, I pout as a child Not given the toy of desire I don't know sorrow from contempt Pain is what I feel Coveted love is what I crave Beauty controls the direction I control the outcome Justification means nothing to me If I don't get what I want Machiavelli's astute observations Were never lost on me But didactics never consoled the heart Where love was exposed to elements Unaware, uncertain, unknown, unattached By climates unwelcomed in secured isolation Beauty is not mine to have Solicited from an ugly facade Even more so my hunger is rebuffed Importuned by a repulsive heart (In the eyes of beauty  I am just another scene  An unremarkable landscape  Passed by on a journey)
