Midnight Fire

Crowd jostles Hungry for facts     Settling for rumors Faces full Of anticipation    Of human suffering Reflecting Blood-red lights Of the ambulance      Like burning Hellfires Strange alien creatures Clothed in      Masks And weird yellow suits Protection against the madness Push through And enter the house of lost souls Bare tree branches Twisted And dry with age Catch the flickering lights In their spiny fingers Reflecting it Like some eerie strobelight Then     A strange fog Drifts over us all Enticing the weaker ones To stay While the strong Avert their eyes And head home to bed
