The War on Poetry
-White House Cancels Poetry Symposium, Citing Concerns about Political Protest-
http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap20030 0_309.html
The thing, is, Laura
Poetry thrives in hidden places
Dissent rabbits
become languid
sunning in meadows
innocent of foxes
Thank you for the
aide memoire
the thrust into action
the reminder that words
can whisk and stir
and spin
ideas in to action
That literature
Is revolutionary
Is alive
Is downright dangerous
To dreams of Empire
