Weeping Widow (Revised)

She weeps in silent solitude no one to wipe her tears smooth her fluted brow. Youth brought peals of laughter carefree days loving nights. The young too fresh for sorrow. Widows sigh for the bygone yearn for passions flame, the sunrise of expectant days. Cocooned blankets shield cold where once he lay to warm her, now only his pillow to hold. Eons of years pass, pain fades with no afterglow. She dwells in yesteryear's memory. A phantom life of old whirls a melancholy melody, with no aria for her doleful heart. The ever-young bides in her mind. Desires are not dust, but flicker still as embers glowing. She hears the silence, see her stir-less breath. Awakes....forlorn
