There Is An Absence In You, Mother

I won't lie. I spent the collection money on chewing gum and, when the basket passed in front of me, I dropped in the silver wrapper. Now that's just one more stone I have to carry. Last week, while you were mumbling to your mirror, I was going to surprise you by bringing home all the sunshine you would ever need but, just as I came in the door, I heard your end of the conversation. "Who is the fairest of them all?" That's what you were saying and that's the exact moment I began feeling real pain. So I took all that sunshine and you know what I did? I poured it over the sand and watched it disappear between the grains. Does that make sense? I won't lie so don't give me any more collection money. I hate buying your expiation besides, the man with the basket is getting suspicious.
