Ever Since

She proudly climbed the steps With her little pink pack Fearless and sure To this day I’m convinced She assumed she’d  Know how to read by the end of the day That was her first major Life disappointment She’s been working ever since Soon I’ll proudly watch As she climbs the steps Her computer in her pack My wife and I Will drive quietly home  At the end of the day She has never been A disappointment I have been blessed ever since

Additional Notes:
I do NOT have empty nest syndrome! NO SIR! NOT ME! Men don't get that. Don't be silly. Those are NOT tear stains, ....I just spilled some coffee!
