The Man in the Moon

The man in the moon  from full to half, in bits of two orbits the manifested tongue, its turn of back, centuries old and allied young. It's a masquerade obscured not from noble’s light, charading gloves of darkness over hands of tight. They bewitch the innocent with snake charming eyes;  slipping yokes these sheep-fitted dragons bind lies, swearing oaths of unity with double-crossed fingers.  It's a flail of tales, cutlery-sharp, digesting freedoms, one after the other, indulging the little man's prosperity, feasting upon his independence, his grant, his liberty. The man in the moon wants to bleed the blood  to set them free, a ransom's flood. Then the spawns of greed would have to dowse their pyre, house their victor colors flagging high, and louse to shreds dictation's reams. Till then he prays man and moon will sweeten the dreams of our children tonight with slumber's boon, our future curled up under the man in the moon.

Additional Notes:
This verse traced my mind while I was reading an editorial, How to Invite War. The title stopped me in my tracks, "Who in their right mind would invite war?" The author's answer on how to invite war was to "leave an ally defenseless". I'm talking about Taiwan, The Republic of China. Taiwan is being threatened on both sides of the fence where its freedom is concerned. Red China, the last great Communist country, who is the bigger country wants to unite with this small island, when in reality it wants its freedom. Secondly Taiwan feels threatened by the appeasements of their ally. And just who does Red China have standing in its corner? The United States of America is their ally. The U.S. balks Taiwan's request for help despite a solemn promise to provide them with necessary aid which would enable them to maintain their freedom. Taiwan reminds me of a small, quaint country with dragon fables who has overcome in a meager way the adversaries they faced. They beat the odds and survived this rat race we call life and now once again the rats are after the cheese! "The Man in the Moon" sees the nights of all men, he knows their pain, their strife, and fills their dreams. That is why I chose the man in the moon to (semi)narrate my verse voicing my opinion on how to RSVP to this invitation of war. "Regrets only, we now lay our arms down as we no longer feed the greedy, we will become a peaceful world if not for ourselves then for our children. This invitation is denied and everyone else denies this invitation it too, so, lay down your arms! I wish that it could be that easy, bless the little people and let us all have courage to make the world a better place. ..especially since we will leave this world to our precious little ones come one day soon.P.S. Tales is tales like stories told by mouth with two edge sword as tongue that's why it is cutery sharp.
