Who Could Forget?

Those pockets! Large enough to hold a whole bunch of carrots Even I knew he would get tricked out of them Outsmarted once again by clever Bunny Rabbit He had the capacity to laugh at himself The stories Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel Imagine, retiring to the basement of a schoolhouse To smoke your pipe and read the paper Stone Soup I sat wide-eyed as the soldiers Starting out with soup made from stones Coaxed food from the villagers One ingredient at a time Somehow it seemed more real In black and white Than it did later on in color Or was it just me? Fare well Captain Kangaroo I hope there are no ping-pong balls in heaven
