The first poem

Number one of ten. Good God! What can I do to squeeze this metaphor deprived  mass of grey matter into producing ten poems in ten days? Do you think it would help if I meditated on the moon, pictured a night lake, rough and stormy, and that cool orb shining through rents torn by the fingers of God, that maybe I can come up with something? Perhaps if I watch that miserable cat of mine, unrepentantly making mince of the roll of toilet paper, decorating our bedroom with shreds of white, then maybe I’ll be able to scribble down something-or-other? Sure I can! I’ll start tomorrow…

Additional Notes:
The latest assignment: Ten poems in ten days. So far it's been fun, if not exactly productive of masterpiece level poetry. And shouldn't it be fun?
