HUMANITY WEEPS

a horrible game with skyscraper rooks and knights infinite borders a twisted mind set upon eradication seven smoking days man-made canyon walls crumble with fire and thunder a teddy bear's eyes hot paper blizzard cement blended stormy dust disaster workers acrid steaming mass ash covered twisted steel tons sixteen acres hot the skyline lowers a million tons of rubble Manhattan falling one hundred ten floors crushed into dusty cellars twice - flesh between them martydom murder and five thousand souls missing a pawn for a pawn dedicated dogs searching for a sign of life amid the prayers ancient battle game a horrible well-laid plan humanity weeps

Additional Notes:
This is a haiku ensemble I wrote mostly as I was watching the 9-11-2001 event unfold on television as I was watching that morning. I happened to be in front of the TV as it happened. Forgive the minor form variations.
