.....now you don't (challenge)

what a task unholy quest search for a grail that is not there self portrait with the written word its not as if i do not dare but only that my sense of self is based not on my self at all the only sense i have of me depends on what all others see is it facade or phoniness  or just an eagerness to please acceptance such a potent drug love much stronger blocks unease who am i? thats simple too  the answer plain in front of me i am quite simply who you think what others want for me to be

I'd like to submit this poem my brother Gerry wrote in response to the self portrait challenge. I took the liberty of issuing the same challenge to the members of my family who are writing oriented. Three sisters and two brothers myself included.
