Words are the Mortar of Life

What we say can make one's day Weigh your words before you say Choosing with care your verse The harm once done stays adverse A thoughtless things we often do Love is lost through lingered ado Often ends your exchange in kind Fading like the flowers on a vine Spoken the words remain said What wisdom can raise the dead Your bane words can not restore The pain that others shall endure If your words please your tongue They will always be well spun Care in meaning they shall suffice Wisdom of words is good advice

Additional Notes:
This poem arises from the many times I have spoken unfairly to others. I have seen how those words have hurt even my friends. I now hold myself more accountable for what I am about to say.

Paul, You are right! This sould be in a plague on a wall. If your words please your tongue They will always be well spun...this alone is a masterpiece. It can actually writen to be a haiku. Thank you for leading me to read this. It actually even put a smile on my face. You have writen this very well and the flow is perfect. Rene'
