BULLY

Grade school Too cool Played me The fool Teased, taunted Days haunted Left alone I wanted Junior year Lived in fear Always scared You were near Black and blue Bloody too All the pain  You never knew Then ten years later on a Saturday night In the rearview mirror came a flashing blue light I pulled over slowly and came to a stop Tried to look sober feeling my stomach drop As soon as I saw your face I knew who you were And I knew that I was going straight to jail and for sure You took my ID and shined a light in my face And said I had a taillight out that I should replace And with a sorrowful smile I know I’ll never forget You said, “I’m letting you go” like we had never met I heard you tell your partner, “Damn I thought we had one” And knew that you regretted all the things you had done Drove away Felt OK Forgave you Made my day
