Don't step on that crack!

Who is that masked man? Shazaam! Keemosabe Faster than a speeding bullet The Shadow knows! Ah yes, take a trip with me A trip down memory lane when ice cream was real and cotton candy left you sick Was it really a time of innocence? A time with curfews that meant something And when teachers weren’t berated And when nurses were caring and had time    to give patients a rubdown before bed And when cops knew your name And picking daisy petals one by one And when “she loves me she loves me not” was more than a silly kids game and pharmacists used a mortar and pestle Ah yes…take me back when I could keep pace with the water spiders while floating on my inner tube watching… nothing! Cool clear water you could drink     straight from the lake And time only meant something when     you were hungry Just me and the water and watching hawks making lazy circles in the sky Sigh!
