monsters Ogre-hunched-scraping shag Crone-like claws that scour slag Touch and taste for sifting crags From pasty wastes and ancient bags Blistered lips and calloused thumbs Blackened teeth and abscessed gums Desperation, hunger gnaws Dead-eyed stares and gaping maws Breeding hags and seedy deeds Feeding greedy eyes and needs Hovering and waiting turns Acrid charred-hair smell it burns Time in limbo, souls forfeit Caring only that next hit For all among us fiends and slaves Smoking in our shallow graves |
