I, dreamer

Red and white Blue and green Thousands of fans There to scream Les Canadiens sont la Vivre Les Canadiens in their red, white and blue They were only there for me And not for you You see I had dreams Of starring one day I went to watch my Habitants Oh yes I would – I would play But all for naught It was never to be My father had other plans The forest was all he could ever see Shipped off to a foreign land To a foreign school with no ice I would never again play It was his roll of the dice And so today many careers later I sit and ponder what could have been I could have played and become a hockey hero Yet as a Nurse I loved the peaches and cream! I’m retired now  I do not regret My past lives have given me pleasures And my wife as well. She is a pet.

Additional Notes:
Red, white, blue, green, refers to the colour of the seats in the Old Montreal Forum, an icon in the hockey world. Today there is no more Forum. It was torn down and replaced with the Bell Centre which doesn't even stand on the same spot but rather a few blocks to the East. "Les Habitants" was the nickname for the Montreal Canadiens (Canadiens spelt with an "e" as it is french).
