Kenneth, I apologize for not having gotten to your offering sooner than this, illness has kept me away. I love this flight of summer's day, one where even the birds seem to be enjoying themselves. This left quite a picture in my mind and a chuckle from my spirit. Bravo, well done. Warmest always, Lora

You have painted a lively and fun picture Kenneth, and no I would not doubt it one bit that they are having fun, so full of energy and antics. I love nature poetry and you have made me smile with this one. Birds are fasinating, and you have captured this well. "Ferraris of the sky feasting on Mayflies Following the mower with flashes of shimmering blue" wonderful use of the "f" sounds here at the first of your lines as well..gives the feeling of swooping and flying and moves the piece very well. I wouldn't mind one lifetime my self..oh to be able to fly!! sigh! great piece!

I Kenneth, Thanks for sharing us this wonderful treat of springtime. Your depiction of this passerine bird gives me a cheerful feel. It wants me to lilt to the open field and watch these ferraris of the sky. Thanks for enegizing my mind with your piece. Jordan

Hi Ken...I love this roem...it is short but ever so sweet. I wrote a poem titled "Skylark" and this poem is somewhat like that. Wouldn't it be fun to just soar aloft....I think birds must really have fun doing that. You have painted a perfect image of these birds with your poetic pen....."Ferraris of the sky" is brilliant! well done. Best....Marilyn

oh man...we have an awful lot of those birds around here...and they keep crapping on my car! Guess they're having fun doing that! We don't have to wait for spring around here to see them as they are here most of the year on the coast where I live. But I have more fun watching the Bald Eagles and Hawks fighting each other. I think that we all in some ways would love to be able to fly on our own. Sometimes it comes to me in a dream...have you not had that experience? Good short poem. thanks.
